Halloween Costumes!

As you may all know, tomorrow is Halloween. I can't believe October is already over, now it's on to November. But before we do we thought we would share our halloween costumes with you. From this year, of course.

Kelsey -

There is this show that I had finally started watching over the summer called "The 100". I've mentioned it before but i'm sure a lot of you may not have heard of it. Once I started watching the show, I got into it pretty quickly. There are these group of people called the "grounders" which are people who lived on earth surviving all the toxins and such that killed human kind (beside the 100 and the others with them that made it to space to avoid being killed) These grounders managed to survive for many years while everyone left on earth was thought to be dead. They are wild and they usually have black makeup around their eyes like you see in the pictures above. My look is inspired by Octavia Blake who is originally one of the 100 young people sent down from space to test the earth to see if it was survivable. She's a bit of a badass and she does sort of become apart of the grounders and ends up looking like them. She has a really cool look which is why I decided I wanted to be a grounder for halloween. What do you guys think of this look? Do you like it? I am defiantly a fan of this hair. I think I might wear it more often outside of halloween.

Kenecha -

My sister keeps telling me that I remind her of a hippie. I had no idea what to be for halloween this year then my sister suggested a hippie and I thought about it and thought why not. My outfit is pretty simple I had these pants for a while but never wore them so I thought it would be the perfect time to break them out, the white shirt had a boho look to it and it ended up looking great for this costume. You know my obsession with floral headbands so I knew I had to wear one for this. My sister let me borrow her peace sign necklace to finish off this look. It was such a fun costume to put together!

What do you think of our Halloween costumes? :)
Happy Halloween!

1 Year Celebration!

Tomorrow marks one year that we started this blog, crazy how fast time flys! We remember when we first started out saying if we can get one person to read our blog in the first year it would be such a great start, we never knew how fast our little blog would grow. A year later and we have over 300 followers and we still can't believe it! To mark this milestone we decided to have a little picnic. We used the treats we made in our last post and brought our own little sandwiches for the picnic.
We would like to thank everyone who reads and comments on our blog posts, we love getting to know everyone better and we are so happy to be apart of this blogging community :)

Pumpkin Carving!

It took us long enough but we finally carved our first pumpkin. I'm not sure how either of us haven't done this before but it was a lot of fun and we decided it's something we will do every year from now on. ;) To be honest, we had no idea what we were doing and when we carved the face, we didn't even draw the face on first to know what to carve but we are happy with how it turned out! Kenecha went for the triangle eyes and nose and it looked so cute. We couldn't stop laughing at [Kelsey's] because it looked like an happy old man but we also thought it looked like Jack Frost (the snowman from the movie "Jack Frost", not Jack Frost from "Rise of the Guardians") It did take some time to carve out the inside, especially mine as Kenecha quoted in the video while helping me "The walls of your are never ending." Oh, and btw, if you do watch the video be aware that you may not fully understand us. :P

Hope you all had a great week! Enjoy your weekend! :)

Halloween Baking: Pumpkins & Cats.

Since Halloween is just around the corner we thought we would do a little bit of baking. Seeing on how we are not the best bakers (yet) we decided to try our hand at rice krispies, Keeping in the halloween theme we shaped them into little pumpkins and kitty cats. We think they can out pretty cute, if we can do it anyone can do it, believe us.

Brighten Up Your Fall.

Hey everyone! I thought I would spice up fall with a colorful look. I love darker colors during this time of the year but I thought why not add some color. My sister did my hair in a bow, one side is a little bit bigger but before we took these photos it was perfect, of course haha. But that's fine. The weather was beautiful for these photos, it was a little chilly but still not too cold so I could get away with wearing a little sweater.

Halloween is 17 days away, do you have your costumes picked out? I have both mine picked! I'm excited!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello everyone! And Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who is celebrating it! :)
I'm wearing this lovely printed blazer today that I've had for a few years but i've only started wearing it this year. I could never seem to find anything to wear with it before, it would never look right with what I was wearing. It's such a lovely blazer for the autumn season and I think it looks really nice with these black pants. I wish I had them previous years so I could've worn this blazer more. I'm loving this blazer a lot more this year as well. I guess I just wasn't ready for it before, not quite feeling it, but the time has come and I love it. That happens quite a lot with me. I'll buy something I like but then i'm just not feeling it so it just hides in my closet and waits until i'm finally ready for it. Anyone else do the same thing?

xx- Kelsey

Halloween D.I.Y!

Hey guys! Halloween is just around the corner so we decided to do a little Halloween D.I.Y. We saw this idea of using a canvas and buttons to create a little halloween picture. Of course, you don't have to use buttons, you could use whatever you felt like, really. We changed ours up a bit and added extra detail with the little bat and moon and we thought the fall leaves added a nice autumn touch. We picked all of these items up at the dollar store so this d.i.y is very inexpensive.
Of course we hand painted the chevron background ourselves and it does take some time but there are easier ways to do this by using tape or stencils. Or you could be creative and create your own unique background. It's also cute if add little banners with "happy halloween" which we didn't do because we chose to make a bat and moon instead. (Taking the easy way out because that's how we like to do it. lol)
We love that this was pretty easy to make but it makes such a cute home decor piece for Halloween. It was also pretty fun to make besides burning a few fingers of course. (Little tip: Be careful while using a hot glue gun.)
What do you guys think of this D.I.Y? Do you like it? Let us know in the comments! Have a great weekend!!
